Brewed with 100% German and Czech malts, but styled as a Vienna in the hopes of attracting some of the Shiner crowd. Haven't had this one yet, but, judging by previous work from LO, we'll assume it's great.
Great german style wheat. Cloudy golden with a bananna nose. Big bannana flavor with just a hint of cloves.
Excellent beer, a real treat to actually get a Hefe Weizen when you order one (as oppsoed to a mislabeled American Wheat).
Big doppelbock that is a deep brown in color with a lacy, transient head and tastes like very alcoholic liquified caramel. Has some pleasant, though minor, hop tastes. A nice doppel all the way around. Seasonally available, usually shows up in the fall-winter timeframe.
American style pale ale (along the lines of Sierra Nevada). Medium amber to reddish in color with a flowery hop nose. Very fresh tasting hop aspects with a pleasant bitterness. Well balanced in the malt department as well. All around great APA.
Nice hoppy Pilsner true to style. Clear and light gold in color, with an excellent hoppy nose and a big, Saaz dominated hop flavor. One of the best American brewed pilsners I've ever had. Certainly the best in Texas.
A year-round offering (despite the seasonal name), I sampled this beer at the Texas Brewers Festival, and found it to be very well made. Deep copper to ruby in color with an alcoholic, yet malty nose and a big malt flavor offset by the alcoholic dryness. If Live Oak keeps churning out beers as good as these, they are destined to be in the top flight of Texas micros.
