Cloudy gold with creamy but transient head. Rich sweet nose, reminiscent of the
richer German lagers (Viennas, for instance). Heavy in aromatic malts, the beer has
a clean start with a rising maltyness and a more balnced malt and noble hop finish.
Very nice overall.
Darker than the lager, this beer is more of a cloudy copper color. Rich in hop aroma, the beer has a rich mouthfeel, generally feeling like a "bigger" beer than the Lager. I would assume some of this effect is due to the ale yeast, but also is likely due to a more heavy malting schedule. However, this beer is much more hop dominated than the lager. Quite a good beer; in my opinion the best in the Friar's line.
I've never had this beer, I assume it is simply a low calorie varient of the Lager. More to come.
