- Chuck Sheldon, (skitime3@cs.com) reports:This brewery has a tasting room that leaves all the frills at home. The theme here is beer!
As I sampled their wares, it became clear that good beer needs nothing more than itself to stand on though I could use a chair. There
were eight brews on tap including their Trademark beer, MooseDrool. Moose Drool is chocolate brown in color with a creamy texture.
This brown ale is a malty beer with just enough hop presence to keep it from being too sweet. The aroma also mostly comes from the malt
with a hint of spiciness being added by the hops. Scape Goat is our award-winning Pale Ale. It is a very smooth, refreshing, and well
balanced brew. Scape Goat took home the Gold Medal from the 1997 North American Brewers' Association competition as the best English
style Pale Ale brewed west of the Mississippi! Slow Elk is an Oatmeal Stout. It is a malty, creamy, and very smooth drinking beer. This
is one stout that even people who "don't like dark beers" can love. By the way, a "Slow Elk" is a nickname for a cow, a few of which
are mistaken for elk during hunting season every year!
Powder Hound is our Winter Ale. Available from November through March, Powder Hound is a deep deep golden colored ale brewed in the
tradition of English Old Ales. It is a strong beer designed to warm up the coldest winter night, yet not so full bodied that you
cannot enjoy a couple runs down the mountain. The Cherry Stout is made of cherry purŽe and balances the taste well for a fruity beer.
Matt Long is the Head Brewer and with all his co-workers help, (everyone is a bonified brewer) does an outstanding job. Rating 1-10 (8)

- WEST YELLOWSTONE
- (BP)Wolf Pack Brewing Co. 111 S. Canyon Street, 59785 406-646-PACK
- Chuck Sheldon, (skitime3@cs.com) reports:Set in the wilderness that is Yellowstone Natl. park,
Wolf Pack has a unique offering to the traveler and local·.A GREAT TIME! Dan Abraham is the Brewmaster/President and works his magic
with unsurpassed vigilance. Danâs wife Sherri runs the pub along with Bo to make this threesome a team to reckon with. There were
four brews on tap when we were there including Lone Mountain Ale, #10 Kolsh, Wapiti Wheat (Wendyâs pick of the day) and the Jim Bridger
Marzen (and my hands down selection!!). All brews were excellent and worth a try or two! Dan the Brew man leverages his brewing
education well (BS in Fermentation from UC Davis)and it shows in every beer. All were balanced and held true to their design. Although
the parking lot is full of snowmobiles in the winter, the outside temperature fades away when immersed in the friendly down to earth
interaction of the owners. Food offerings are small, though what they do offer comes in LARGE portions. After 7:00pm, this place is
standing room only and for good reason. Good friends, good beer, what more can you ask for?? When in the area, please say hello to
Sherri for us! We will return!!!
