Charles Sheldon, (skitime3 @cs.com) reports: Located in downtown on Main St. the brewery is located in the old rapid City Firehouse. There is
dining inside and out, (a patio with 20+ tables) that is covered and actually sandwiched between
the adjacent brick building, giving the feeling of old. There is a stage for live music and bands
play nightly. They had six microâs on tap when we were there, (a continuous rotation of twelve at
any given time may be found). All were actually well crafted, and pleasant. The Wilderness Wheat
is a light, crisp, refreshing and drinkable ale featuring the finest Saaz hops the Czech Republic
has to offer,( and Wendyâs pick of the day!!). The Buffalo Bitter is a moderately bitter,
copper- colored ale which is brewed with crystal malt imported from the United Kingdom. East Kent
Goldings hops from England provide hop aroma. The India pale ale is hopped with East Kent Goldings.
Not as pungent as some ãmore hoppy IPAâs Iâve tried, and refreshingly crisp, ( and my pick of the
day!!). The Smoke!
Jumper Stout is a dry stout featuring a roasty coffee-like bitterness and a clean well balanced
palate. The food was very good, although a little $$. We would like to thank the management for
seeing to our every need, including a wonderful chocolate mudslide dessert. Chris Joch is the
brew master and has been on-site for nearly eight years. He really does a great job and it tasted
with every variety of beer that he brews. When in Rapid City, a stop here is a must!! We will
return!
