James N. Pevey (agabriel@gte.net) reports: It has 70 (that's right, seventy) beers on tap and something like 150 in bottles. It has as close to a pub atmosphere as you can get in West Texas. A little too college on weekend nights, though. Otherwise, a good mix of clientele
Beers include:
Ogalla Light : Named for the aquifer in the area, the bridge beer (for the BudMillCoors crowd).
Yellow House Wheat : An American wheat (no bananna flavor, in other words)
Red Raider Red : Amber with little hoppiness
Mike's Honey Porter : Porter
Peter Syapin (phrpjs@msmail.ttuhsc.edu) says: Lubbock is very excited that it now has its own brewpub.
It currently has a wheat stout, a porter, an amber red, and a golden
ale available. We are eagerly awaiting the lager. In addition, Hub City
has the only authentic brick pizza oven in Lubbock. I can also recommend
the beer-battered onion rings.
Steve Arze (Medssa@ttuhsc.edu) says: They had a wheat, octoberfest, amber, golden ale, stout,
porter (they were out) and a peach beer. The peach wasn't bad.
My friend really liked the Amber, while I thought it tasted like
Budweiser. The Golden ale, was, to
me alot like a Michelob. The octoberfest, was our favorite.
I liked it better than Sam Adams Octoberfest!! I found the stout to have an odd aftertaste.
