Ingredients
for 6 gallons:
5.14 lbs pale malt
1.10lbs crystal 60L
1.14lbs wheat malt
.25lb torrified wheat
.25lb flaked barley
.22lb black patent malt
1/4 cup cane sugar
1 oz u.k. kent goldings pellets
1oz fuggles pellets both at boil ( 60 min )
wyeast scottish ale yeast slurry
60 min infusion mash 8.10 lb grist OG 1.036 FG 1.010
A have a small fetish for mild ales, this one turned out just about on the money. i did however use slurry from my "sheeps chagrin scots ale" for my yeast. mash-sparge-and collect 6 to 6.5 gallons of wort. bring wort to a boil add both ounces of hop pellets boil for 45 min and add the wort chiller and irish moss, bring back to a boil and boil for another 15 min. chill wort , transfer, and pitch yeast.
dark brown , light body , caramel and malt flavor, a good quaffing brew
