The store closure at 160 Talbot St. North was necessary so that a comprehensive COVID-19 cleaning protocol could be implemented and affected staff could self-monitor for symptoms and self-isolate, a press release from the Beer Store. The store’s reopening date is yet to be determined. When determined, it will be displayed on the Beer store website .

“As our team member receives care, we send our positive thoughts and best wishes,” the press release read. “All
potentially affected employees will monitor for symptoms or self-isolate depending on the circumstances as a precautionary measure.

The statement said “nothing is more important to us at the Beer Store than the health and well-being of our more than 7,000 Beer Store employees and our customers across the province.”

The store is working in consultation with the Windsor Essex County Health Unit. All Beer Store locations have robust cleaning and public distancing protocols, and require employees to wear face coverings, the company said.

“As per this protocol, all Beer Store employees wore face coverings while at this location.”
